Chris Rogers
Senior Vice President, MBA

Chris Rogers Senior Vice President, MBAChris Rogers brings more than 30 years of experience as a health care leader to his new role as Senior Vice President of THIPA. His background includes leading and directing hospital/physician programs. Prior to joining THIPA, Chris worked for Sutter Health in Northern California where he served in two different roles, Vice President for Integrated Physician Services and Chief Operations Officer for Sutter Pacific Medical Foundation.

Sylvia Dochterman, MBA
Vice President, Managed Care Operations

Sylvia Dochterman, MBA Vice President, Managed Care OperationsSylvia Dochterman has more than 25 years of executive experience in health care. In 2017, she joined Torrance Memorial Health System as vice president, Managed Care Operations, where she leads operations for Torrance Health IPA and Torrance Memorial Integrated Physicians, LLC.

Dochterman served for many years as president and CEO of Preferred Health Professionals (PHP), one of Kansas City, Missouri’s largest physician- and hospital-owned health plans.

Dochterman has a bachelor's degree in biology at UCLA, and earned her MBA in corporate finance and marketing management from the University of Southern California’s Marshall School of Business.

Kelley Prince, MD
Chief Medical Officer

Kelley Prince, MD Chief Medical OfficerKelley Prince, MD, is a Board Certified Family Medicine physician who serves as Chief Medical Officer for Torrance Health IPA (THIPA). Dr. Prince provides clinical leadership, direction, and population health management for THIPA. Dr. Prince is passionate about a collaborative partnership with healthcare leaders to support Best Practice and Care Team Innovation.

Prior to join THIPA in 2017, Dr. Prince served as Senior Medical Director, UM Operations, for Beaver Medical Group, a large multi-specialty medical group including 25 medical specialties caring for nearly 90,000 capitated lives, where her responsibilities included Utilization Management, Operations, and Innovation.

Dr. Prince also served as practicing family physicians with Bristol Park Medical Group/MemorialCare Medical Foundation in Orange County, CA. In addition to patient care responsibilities, she served as Medical Director of Population Health where she established and led chronic disease and high-risk care management programs. She also served on the MemorialCare Medical Group Board of Directors from 2011-2013.

Yumiko Lee
Sr. Director, Population Health

Yumiko Lee Sr. Director, Population HealthSince 2015, Yumiko Lee has been responsible for Torrance Memorial Integrated Physicians operations as the senior director, Population Health and ACO at Torrance Memorial Health System. From 2005 to 2015, she held the role of manager, Medical Staff Services/PI at Torrance Memorial Medical Center.

Lee has an M.P.H. specialized in Public Health Informatics from the University of Illinois at Chicago, as well as a bachelor’s degree in kinesiology, exercise science from California State University, Long Beach.

Josie Wong, RN
Senior Director, Medical Management

Josie Wong, RN Senior Director, Medical ManagementJosie Wong is a registered nurse who joined THIPA in 2017, bringing more than 20 years of experience in medical management, including utilization management and case management.

Prior to her position with THIPA, Wong served for more than 12 years as a senior executive at Care1st Health Plan serving Med-Cal, Medicare Advantage, SNP and CMC members.

Wong holds a bachelor's degree in Nursing from Cal State LA and an MBA from University of Phoenix.

Norman Panitch, MD
Physician Advisor

Norman Panitch, MD Physician AdvisorDr. Panitch is a gastroenterologist who specializes in all aspects of gastrointestinal disorders. He has been recognized as a leader in both diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopy and colonoscopy.

Dr. Panitch served as chief of the medical staff of Torrance Memorial Hospital from 1982 to 1983, and was the president of the Southern California Society of Gastroenterology in 1980 to 1981. Dr. Panitch is a fellow of the American College of Physicians, and a member of the AGA and the ASGE. Dr. Panitch was one of THIPA’s founding physicians, and has served various leadership roles since its inception in 1983.

Senior Advisory Board

Comprised of 12 South Bay residents who are THIPA members, the THIPA Senior Advisory Board Committee was created in 2009 with the goal to improve the care and services offered to members. The board meets monthly with THIPA’s executive team to share medical care concerns, pose questions and offer input for improvement and new services. The board’s ideas have developed into valued programs like the THIPA newsletter that helps members learn about the variety of services and resources available to help manage their health care.
